API development tools were unnecessarily complex, performed poorly with large requests, and lacked effective collaboration features.
PostBlock.io was created by Ned Hasovic in response to the challenges of API development. As a versatile developer skilled in both backend and frontend technologies, Ned experienced firsthand the frustrations with existing tools' complexity and steep learning curves.
"I was spending more time fighting with my API tools than actually designing APIs," explains Ned. "I realized there was a need for something better."
Ned identified three core problems with existing API tools: unnecessarily complex interfaces, poor performance with large requests, and limited collaboration features. He created a tool that is powerful enough for expert developers but intuitive enough for beginners—democratizing API development across technical skill levels.
Drawing on his full-stack development skills, Ned architected the backend systems, designed an intuitive user interface, and applied his experience in system optimization to ensure performance. He created PostBlock with input from trusted colleagues who provided valuable user testing and feedback.
The solution addresses key problems through innovative approaches:
A key innovation is Ned's proprietary "StreamResponse" technology, which handles extremely large API responses without crashing—a common problem with other tools. This technology allows PostBlock to process responses significantly larger than competitors can handle.
The tool received positive feedback during early testing, with users particularly praising the intuitive interface and performance with large data sets. This validation confirmed that PostBlock successfully addresses real pain points in API development.
PostBlock.io solves critical problems for developers in several ways:
The platform is used by individuals, teams, and educational institutions to streamline their API development workflows, making it more accessible and efficient for developers of all skill levels.
"I just wanted to solve a problem that frustrated me," says Ned Hasovic, founder of PostBlock. "It turns out many developers shared that same frustration."
Ned serves as the chief product architect, focusing on making API development more accessible and efficient for developers of all skill levels.
"The best compliment I receive," says Ned, "is when a junior developer tells me they were able to design their first API without feeling overwhelmed. That's exactly why I built PostBlock."
